Week 16

Announcements:

December Field Trip: We will be visiting the BYU art museum for our December Field Trip!  We will be attending during the morning of   Monday, December 2nd.  We will leave the school at 9:15 and return to school  at 12:30.  We will each lunch at school when we return.  There is no fee for this field trip! 

Book Orders: If you wish to order something from the December Book Order, please place your order by Friday, December 6th. This will be our last book order before Christmas.  If you want to order books as a Christmas present please email me and let me know and I will not send the order home with your child.

What we are learning this week:

 

Literacy: We will continue to practice the Spalding Phonograms. We will learn about adjectives.  We will practice writing multiple sentences about the same topic.   

Math:We will continue to learn how to add two digit numbers to one digit numbers. 

Science: We will now be having science during our rotation time.  We will be learning science from Mrs. Pili the second grade teacher. 

Social Studies: We will study the similarities and differences between different types of communities. 

Health: We will continue to learn about germs and how to prevent them from spreading. We are working really hard to keep our class healthy!

Week 14 and 15

Announcements:

Early Out November 22nd:  School will release at 12:30 on Friday November 22nd.  No lunch will be served. Please plan accordingly.

Thanksgiving Break: There is no school on Wednesday 27th, Thursday the 28th and Friday the 29th for Thanksgiving Break. There will be no spelling or math homework the week of the 25th-29th because of the break.

Week 13

Announcements:

 

Early Out November 22nd:  School will release at 12:30 on Friday November 22nd.  No lunch will be served. Please plan accordingly. 

NWEA Testing: We have state required NWEA testing this week.  Due to problems with our computers we will be riding the bus to John Hancock Charter School to take this test in their computer lab.  We will be gone the following times: Monday, November 11th from 11:45-1:15and Wednesday November 13th from 11:45-1:15. 

 

Veteran Assembly: We will have a veteran coming to our school to talk to us about his service to our country in honor of Veteran's Day which was earlier this month.  He will be here from 9:30-10:00 on Friday, November 15th. 

 Library: We have not been to library in a few weeks due to Halloween and the book fair.  However, we will be visiting the library on Thursday this week.  Please return your child's library book to school on Thursday so they can check out a new book.
