Change to Homework: As we near the end of the school year, I will be making a slight change to the way I assign homework. We have completed the content in the first grade core standards for math and we have reached the end of our math curriculumn. As such, there is no longer homework sheets from our current math book to send home. For the rest of the school year we will be focusing on reiewing concepts we have already studied as well as begining to cover some of the second grade math curriculum to prepare the girls for next year. For homework I will be sending home a weekly packet on Mondays that will be due on Fridays. These packets will consist of sheets that review concepts we hae previously studied as well as sheets that cover new concepts we will be learning. They will cover both literacy and math concepts. The packets will contain the about the same amount of weekly homework as the girls have been given earlier this year.
Supply Donations: As the school year progresses, we are using up many of our supplies from the beginning of the year. If you are able, our class needs donations of the following items:
2. Hand Sanitizer (in a pump bottle)
3. Fine Tip Dry Erase Markers
4 Construction Paper
Spring Break: Spring break is coming up on April 7-11.
Literacy: We will continue to practice the Spalding Phonograms. We will work on writing opinion pieces with three supporting reasons.
Math: We will continue to learn about 2-digit addition and review concepts from earlier in the year.
Social Studies: We will continue to learn about American history, focusing on Columbus and the Conquistadors.
