Week 10

Announcements:

Field Trip Fees: If you have not yet sent in your child's $3 field trip fee please do so.  We need the money no later than Monday, October 20th. 

Field Trip: We will be going on a field trip to Cornbelly's farm on Tuesday, October 22nd.  We will leave the school at 8:35 so please make sure that your daughter is on time. We will return to school before lunch and eat lunch as usual at the school. There is a $3 fee for this field trip.  Please do not send in your fee money until the week of the 14th (I will send an email reminder).

Costume Waivers: Please return the orange costume waiver forms to school if you wish for your child to wear their costume in the Halloween Parade. If you need a new costume waiver form please email me. 

Halloween Party:  We will be celebrating Halloween in class for part of the day on October 31st. We have two wonderful room parents that have been working super hard to plan this and they have come up with some excellent activities. Parent Teacher Conferences: Parent teacher conferences are November 6th and 7th.  Please log into you compass account to sign up for an appointment starting Monday October 21st.

What we are learning this week:

 

Literacy: We will continue to practice the Spalding Phonograms.  We will also learn more about nouns and the subjects of sentences. We will study the differences between questions and statements.  

Math:We will finish studying subtraction story problems.  We will have a math test on Friday. There will be no math homework on Tuesday because of the field trip. 

Science: We will now be having science during our rotation time.  We will be learning science from Mrs. Pili the second grade teacher. 

Social Studies: We will continue studying Geography and its impact on culture. 

Health: We will learn about germs.
