Week 20

1. We will go outside for recess everyday unless it is a. under 20 degrees, b. a red air day or c. raining so much that we are unable to go out.  Please make sure that your student is dress appropriately.   There is no place for your student to be supervised inside during recess on days we go out.

2. DIBLES Testing- We will start DIBLES reading testing the week of 1/20/14. Please help your student be ready for these tests by getting adequate sleep and eating a nutritious breakfast.

4. There is no school Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King Junior Day.

5. Principal's 200s Club.  We have started a new school wide reward program to recognize students who are caught making respectful and responsible choices.  Teachers will randomly be handing out tickets to students who are doing an exceptional job of following the rule each day.  There will only be 10 tickets handed school wide out each day.

6. Parent Teacher Conferences- Parent Teacher Conferences will be on February 25th and 26th. You can begin signing up for appointments on Tuesday January 21st.  Please sign up for an appointment so I have time left in my schedule to meet with you!

What we are learning this week:

 

Literacy: We will continue to practice the Spalding Phonograms. We will continue to practice parts of speech, and ABC order. During writing we will finish up our first opinion pieces.

Math: We will continue to learn about sorting and comparing data. We will take a math test on Wednesday. There will be no homework on Wednesday because of the math test.

Science: We will be learning about space with Ms. Pili.

Social Studies:  We will learn about Martin Luther King Jr.
