Week 19

Week 19

1. We will go outside for recess everyday unless it is a. under 20 degrees, b. a red air day or c. raining so much that we are unable to go out.  Please make sure that your student is dress appropriately.   There is no place for your student to be supervised inside during recess on days we go out.

2. Our January field trip will be a visit from a children's book author!  Ms. Askrin will be speaking to our class about her book next Thursday, January 16th.

3. DIBLES Testing we will start DIBLES reading testing the week of 1/20/14.

4. There is no school Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King Junior Day.

What we are learning this week:

 

Literacy: We will continue to practice the Spalding Phonograms. We will continue to practice parts of speech, and ABC order. During writing we will start learning how to write opinion pieces. 

Math: We will continue to learn about sorting and comparing data. 

Science: We will be learning about space with Ms. Pili.

Social Studies:  We will continue studying the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia.
