Week 18

1. We will go outside for recess everyday unless it is a. under 20 degrees, b. a red air day or c. raining so much that we are unable to go out.  Please make sure that your student is dress appropriately.   There is no place for your student to be supervised inside during recess on days we go out.

2. Our Winter Festival Performance is coming up on Dec. 18th from 8:45-9:15. It will be a short performance of singing and dancing.  All of the girls should wear white shirts for this performance.  Parents are welcome to attend!

3. No Spelling this week!  We will be doing extra rehearsals for our winter performance so we will not have time for spelling.

4. Early out on Friday.  School will be released at 12:30 on Friday.  Lunch will not be served.  A snack of cookies and milk will be served for 75 cents. Please Plan accordingly.

5. End of 2013 Celebration.  On Friday our class will be celebrating the end of 2013 by watching the movie The Polar Express. We read the book and wrote about it last week. If you would like to donate a store bought snack for the class to share during the movie that would be wonderful.  Please note that we do have a peanut allergy in our class so all snacks must not contain peanuts.

What we are learning this week:

 

Literacy: We will continue to practice the Spalding Phonograms. We will continue to practice parts of speech, and ABC order. 

Math:We will continue to learn how to add two digit numbers to one digit numbers. 

Science: We will now be having science during our rotation time.  We will be learning science from Mrs. Pili the second grade teacher. 

Social Studies: We will study holidays around the world.
